Twin Rivers Friends are the stewards of seven Little Free Libraries (LFL) in and around New Bern.
What is a LFL?
A Little Free Library is a small, publicly accessible wooden box operating on a "take a book, share a book" honor system. Anyone can take a book to read or leave behind books they have finished. The movement aims to build community and increase 24/7 book access for readers of all ages.
Where do the books come from to stock the LFLs?
We stock LFLs with books donated by the public. We never seem to have enough children's books. PLease donate books!

- Charlotte H. Rhone Cultural Center on West Street
- Stanley White Recreation Center
How are these stocked and maintained?
We have one volunteer and one backup member who checks the boxes weekly and more often during periods of higher usage. Books needed are pulled from our storage unit. We have volunteers who help build new LFLs and who help make needed repairs.
