In keeping with our mission to encourage lifelong learning and to enrich the lives of those in our community, the Twin Rivers Friends have established a Senior Activities program. We have begun with programs for seniors who attend day programs and those who live in senior facilities and residential centers. Base on our early success with an Oktoberfest program in the fall of 2025, in 2026 we have enhanced the number and types of programs. Here is a list of our current offerings, each lasting 1 to 2 hours:
- Gametime
- Cards
- Book Clubs (silent, book-to-movie, regular)
- Writing Fun
- Puzzle competitions
- Get Crafty
- Oktoberfest
- National Park Tour (a four-session series)
- Italy Tour (a four-session series).
We created a Senior Activities Guide with all the details and shared it with appropriate entities in the area. Click here to view the guide. It provides more detail. Click here to see the list of prizes we need. These can be dropped off at our storage unit (River Mills Professional Storage Center 2723 Neuse Blvd.). Click here to see drop off schedule when we have volunteers present or email Judy Hills.
